Julia LaTray

Julia LaTray, aka DonkeyGirl, has had just about every job you could imagine. She’s been a bronc buster, rock musician, financial advisor, housepainter, furniture maker, Mexican restaurant prep cook, and an exotic dancer! Oooh la la! In the midst of all that, Julia started sewing and designing in an effort to make feminine, but not frilly, clothes she couldn’t find in stores – and in turn, DonkeyGirl was created. Using upcycled, fair trade, and organic materials, DonkeyGirl’s collections explore high and low style and indulge Julia’s love of super-saturated hues.

Last fall, Julia got some accolades for her designs when a contributing style editor at Glamour magazine caught sight of her “Gretchen” dress at the Missoula, MT People’s Market.
