Jeff Mooridian – Hammerhead/Vaz

August 16, 2011

Back in the early 90’s, a noise rock movement was happening. The record label Amphetamine Reptile was cranking out the very best in powerful, teeth rattling rock. The kind of music that would shake you and break you. Hammerhead was the best of this genre.

All hailing from Fargo, North Dakota, Hammerhead moved to Minneapolis and created a sound that defined the Twin Cities and Amphetamine Reptile itself. Made up of Paul Erickson, Paul Sanders and Jeff Mooridian, the band tore up every venue they played and left a trail of detritus behind them.

When they split up, at the end of the 90’s, drummer/singer Mooridian and bass player Erickson picked up where Hammerhead left off with their new band Vaz.
Luckily, for the attendees of Total Fest, both Vaz and Hammerhead will be playing this weekend – August 18th and the 20th, respectively.

We’re thrilled that Jeff Mooridian agreed to participate in 12 Questions! Rearrange your schedule, find a babysitter, or ask your boss for the night off – these are sets in the Total Fest line-up that are not to be missed!
