Flashlights

Look out the window and think of summer. Try to imagine the sunshine, the leaves in the breeze, birds, butterflies. It’s hard to do when the north wind is howling, and there’s snow everywhere. If your imagination needs a boost, download the latest EP from Glo-Fi electro-pop duo Flashlights. Their shimmering soundscapes will bring summer to life in your cube and make you party in your desk chair.

Denver natives Ethan Converse and Sam Martin are electronic duo Flashlights. New to electronic production, Ethan and Sam started Flashlights as a way to explore their desire warm up the cold Denver winter with lush pop music. On their debut EP “Hidden Behind Trees”, Flashlights evokes the tropical, but there’s always a little chill behind the loops that makes you tingle while you dance.

Named one of Westword‘s 12 acts to watch in 2011, and featured in NME‘s Buzzworthy Artists, as well as playing high profile shows with Toro Y Moi, Millionyoung, and Miami Horror, Flashlights will hit the festival circuit this summer. Ethan and Sam just finished their follow up to “Hidden Behind Trees,” a five-song EP titled “So Close To Midnight,” which promises to be more dance oriented than their previous outings. Look for it to drop in the Spring of 2012.

In the meantime, give a listen to their new single “Fireworks” while you read on…
