Audrey Banks

Audrey Banks

2011 was a big year for Audrey Banks, the curator, director and founder of T.A.G. (Teen Art Gallery). Last year she organized T.A.G.’s first show in July 2011 and was featured in the New York Times, New York Magazine, The Huffington Post, Paper Magazine, and Frieze Magazine. After the success of the T.A.G. debut show, Audrey even appeared on Project Runway as a featured artist in August.

Those are serious accomplishments for any artist, right? But what makes Audrey even more impressive is the fact that she did all of that amazing stuff while enrolled as a high school student at the Bard High School Early College in New York City!

T.A.G is an organization devoted to the creation of teen-curated and teen-organized art galleries around New York City that display works of art created by talented young artists between the ages of 12-19.

In addition to directing T.A.G. and attending high school, Audrey Banks is also a judge on the Young Artist’s for St. Jude Art Advisory board. She and four other distinguished judges select artwork for St. Jude’s charity art shows.

Although she is deeply involved in the business of the arts, Audrey prides herself on her large, colorful works on canvas. This young artist is definitely one to watch!

T.A.G.’s next show is the teen-curated Unseen Artists spring event, opens March 29th, 2012, from 6pm-7pm at the Rogue Gallery in Chelsea.
