Launa Bacon

Artist Launa Bacon explores the influence of culture, mass media and social structures on individual behavior. Entangled memories produce a kind of sublime play that explores the nature of female identity and the human condition in relation to nature. Not bound to any particular medium, traditional display or expression but driven by content and intent, Launa’s work ranges from collage to video, sculpture, installation, and large-scale projections.

Not content to simply produce her own art (as though that weren’t enough!), Launa also actively supports the work of other artists, as a founder with Cindy Rehm of Craftswoman House, and now through the online artists’ community Darger HQ, a new platform for presenting international emerging artists’ work to new collectors. Owned and operated by artists for artists, Darger HQ showcases both editioned and unique works by about 15 early to mid-career artists on a simple and easy to use website, making buying contemporary art an enjoyable and stress-free experience.

Darger HQ is accepting submissions for new artists through May 15. Read on to learn more about the founder of this innovative collective, then get your work together and submit!
