It isn’t often that I get to write the words “genderqueer electropunk provocateur” so it’s with great pleasure that I use those words to introduce today’s featured artist, Petra Flurr. This Berlin artist smashes musical genres, gender binaries, and eardrums with delirious abandon, making hard electronic music that fuses the best of early no wave with a sizzling contemporary edge.

In a spirit that is truly DIY, Petra eagerly collaborates with other artists, including Latin American electronic artist El Modernista (listen below to one product of that meeting of minds). Petra’s work was brought to our attention by David Dexter LAB. If we visit Berlin, we’ll be sure to bring our earplugs!
