1. What is your hometown?
2. With what fictional character do you most identify?
Definitely Chris Pratt from the show Parks & Rec. He plays guitar, looks like me, and acts like me.
3. In the movie of your life, cast an actor to play you.
Absolutely without a doubt Philip Seymour Hoffman
4. What work of art speaks to your soul?
The LOVE murals in Baltimore are simply the word Love spelled out with hands. They’re all over the city. The city is going through a lot with foreclosures and high crime and everybody there could use a little love right now.
5. What books are you currently reading or recommending?
Steve-o from Jackass’ memoir. I know, I know, but the guy has had an amazing life and I’m fascinated by the fact that he’s alive and well, and happy that he’s been sober for 3+ years.
6. What song or album is currently in heavy rotation on your iPod?
The new National Album. These guys make some of the most emotionally moving music I’ve ever heard. The lead singer, Matt’s, baritone vocals are amazing.
7. What’s the last movie that made you cry?
Probably the Band of Brothers mini-series on HBO. It was a combination of amazing production, a true story, and the reason we’re still free people today.
8. Cat person or dog person?
Dogs. I wish I could have one but I can barely take care of myself.
9. What is more important, truth or kindness?
Truth. The truth hurts sometimes and we all have to be very open and honest as a band. We can still be kind while being honest with each other.
Who ever drinks the last beer during band practice is considered a sinner in the band by-laws. You may may repent and be forgiven by buying more beer.
11. How do you define virtue?
Any positive trait, really. The virtue of selflessness is something I try to balance everyday. How do I make myself happy while also looking out for others, especially my band mates?
12. Design your headstone: What does it say? What does it look like?
No headstone for me. Launch my ashes into space Hunter S. Thompson style.
